ICSE PHYSICS GUESS PAPER SCIENCE Paper- 1 (Two hours) Answer to this paper must be written on the paper provided separately. You will not be allowed to write during the first 15 minutes. This time is to be spent on reading the Question paper. The time given at the head of this Paper is the time allowed for writing the answers. Section I is compulsory. Attempt any four questions from section II. The intended marks for questions or part of questions are given in brackets [ ]. SECTION I (40 Marks) Attempt all questions from this Section. Question 1 (a) State the conditions when force produces: [2] (i) Translation motion. (ii) Rotational motion in a body. (b) Mohan purchased a self erecting toy for his son from market. He noticed that the base of the toy was made heavier . According to scientific reason justify the underlined statement. [2] (c) (i) A metal cube is hammered and turned into cuboid, will the position of gravity remains same in both the case. Explain. (ii) Where is the position of centre of gravity of scalene triangle situated? [2] (d) A bull exerts a pull of 300 N on a cart so that the bullock cart system moves with a uniform speed of 12km/hrs on a level road. Calculate the power developed by the bull in H.P. [Take 750 watt= 1 H.P]. [2] (e) Name the machine which is used to: (i) Multiply force. (ii) Change the point of effort to a convenient point. Question 2 (a) A cop fires from his gun, the ejected bullet having mass of 50 g is moving with a velocity of 500 ms . It penetrates 10 cm still target and comes to rest. Calculate the kinetic energy possessed by the bullet. (b) State the energy change in the following devices: (i) A Microphone. (ii) Washing machine.
